Specializing in Tabi Shoes and Tabi Socks, Nindurance was founded in 2007 and has supplying research, information, and martial arts supplies related to classical Japanese Martial Arts of the Samurai and Ninja. We supply traditional Japanese Budoka equipments and supplies for Kendo, Judo, Aikido, Karate, Kyudo, Iaido and Taijutsu.

The Tabi Shoes supplied from Nindurance are hand made and imported from Saitama, Japan. Saitama has been known for producing traditional indigo cotton indoor Tabi shoes for budo training since the times when the Samurai ruled Japan.
Tabi (足袋) are traditional Japanese socks. Ankle-high and with a separation between the big toe and other toes, they are worn by both men and women with geta and other traditional thronged footwear. Tabi shoes are also essential with traditional clothing such as the kimono. The most common color is white or indigo, and white tabi are worn in formal situations such as at tea ceremonies. Men sometimes wear indigo blue or black tabi shoes for traveling, or martial arts training.

In contrast to common socks that, when pulled on, fit the foot snugly because of their elastic weave, the tabi shoes are sewn from cloth cut to form. They are open at the back so they can be slipped on and have a row of metal fasteners along the opening so they can be closed.
